The Center for Sri Lanka (CIRSL) will hold its first awards ceremony today (Tuesday) in Colombo for 14 local journalists who completed its investigative journalism fellowship.
CIRSL introduced the fellowship programme in September for young journalists to develop their skills in investigative reporting through a combination of training and continuous mentoring for nearly four months.
Selected by an independent panel of judges, three CIR Fellows who excelled the fellowship programme will undertake an exposure tour and a short course in mobile journalism at the Center for Excellence in Journalism (CEJ), Karachi, Pakistan from 23-27 March 2020.
High Commissioner of the United Kingdom to Sri Lanka, Sarah Hulton will deliver the keynote address at the event, which will be held from 9.30 am onwards at Hotel Ozo in Colombo 04.
The programme was supported by British High Commission and facilitated by International Media Support (IMS).
